The Filling Station Microbrewery features handcrafted ales by the rails and wood-fired flatbreads. Located in the historical railroad district of Traverse City, MI with picturesque views of the Boardman Lake and conveniently located off Traverse City’s recreational bike and pedestrian path, the T.A.R.T. trails. The Filling Station Microbrewery combines ancient baking practices in an urban neighborhood setting.
The distinctive wood-fired oven lends an irresistible flavor to the light, crisp, thin-crust flatbreads. Flatbreads have been around almost as long as humanity dating back to ancient Egyptians and the practice of earthen mounds baking. Stones that were collected from Northern Michigan adorn the exterior of the wood-fired oven adding exceptional character to the Filling Station Microbrewery. The flatbreads are available in a variety of flavors and made with the freshest ingredients available.
David Cannizzaro, head brewer, brews on both a 10 bbl & 3 bbl brewing system. This allows him the freedom to create small batches of craft brews in a variety of styles. David brews using a diverse assortment of malted barley and hops creating distinct range of handcrafted ales. The 3 bbl brewing system was built in Belding, MI and makes available the endless opportunity for David to keep an array of ever changing, unique beers on tap. The Filling Station Microbrewery keeps at least eight beers on tap and rotates the diverse flavors and styles, so there is sure to be something that satisfies your palate.
