Hey friends,
Ray is in Lansing this morning getting our state license from the liquor licensing commission. This is one of the last official documents we need. We are getting closer to having a timeline, and will put it up here when it firms up a bit. For now, though, we have a lot of work to do getting everything set up, but I will try to keep you updated.
For those of you new here, we are opening a ten barrel brewery at the old train depot, near the library. A stone deck pizza oven will be the source of many fine pies, with a salad on the side if you insist! Coming from twenty-odd (sometimes really odd!) years in the food industry, you would think the pizza oven alone would make me happy, but as the saying goes, I’m here for the beer! (Anyone else buy the Fiends album 25 years ago just for the cover?)(Great album too!)
In addition to our ten barrel brewhouse, we also have a three barrel system to play with. Expect classic beer styles, as well as off the wall brews. I am a hophead, I’ll say that right now, so IPAs will be there. British milds, bitters, browns. Belgians too, and not just my inlaws at the bar!
I will start posting more regularly, and of course once we open you will find our beer list here, as well as the pizza menu. There are a lot of blogs out there that have inspired me to try my hand at this one, and while it is slow starting, I hope it will at least entertain you once in a while.
Cheers!
David
