This segment always highlights the entertainment at the Filling Station. Short’s Brewery joins the Filling Station as Michigan’s only podcasting breweries!

The Filling Station is thrilled to have Short’s as a fellow podcasting brewery. A big thank you to Mike Moran for his vision and podcast producing skills, without which neither of these podcasts would likely be available. For more information on the new Short’s Cast check out the article in Eat Drink TC or have a listen… Short’s Cast

The Filling Station Podcast #11

This is our first episode of 2014 and we hope all of our listeners enjoyed the holidays as much as we did. Just a heads up that it was freezing in the office where we tape the show (and pretty much everywhere else in the Mid-West:) so we left the heaters on. If you hear a slight buzz in the background don’t worry it’s not your headphones or speakers just the cold taking over.

Segment 1

We are happy to announce a new book program with the Traverse Area District Library, conveniently located next to the Filling Station, called “Books and Brewskies”. The club will meet the fourth Tuesday of every month to discuss a great new book, while enjoying a few Filling Station beers. This month the book we’ll be discussing is called “Everything Matters” written by Ron Currie Jr.

Everything Matters!: A Novel

Segment 2

We are bringing back the D.C. ESB which is a favorite of many in the Traverse City beer community and pairing it with a new pizza called The Parenzana! This pizza is a brother and sister collaboration and has quite the back story.

Segment 3

This segment always highlights the entertainment at the Filling Station and we are always happy to have our two house bands Monday and Wednesday. We have traditional Celtic music on Mondays with a variety of local musicians playing their favorite Celtic tunes. On Wednesdays the Younce Guitar Duo is pulling out their Taylor Guitars and providing some great improvisational acoustic music.

Join us at The Filling Station for some great beer, and pizza in 2014. We always love hearing from you at todd@thefillingstationmicrobrewery.com

The Filling Station Podcast #10

Well this is our 10th episode and the last one we’ll be recording before 2014. We start off the show by getting a few shots in at the head coach of the Detroit Lions, Jim Schwartz. Sorry Jim, you got to go.

In our first segment we talk about a new dessert creation from the one and only Amanda Klepper. She has created the Pecan Pie Caboose! Paired with a Filling Station Stout… it can’t be beat.

In our second segment we get to talk about the new Filling Station Website which is up an functional. In the past you would just be routed to our Facebook page but now we have the fully functional interactive website that our customers deserve.

Something new we are bringing to the show is our Pandora Artist of the week. As you know Pandora is always playing at The Filling Station and our featured artist this week is The Barr Brothers. Check them out at http://thebarrbrothers.com/music/
