The Whistle Stop Revue

Thursday – August 13th

7:00 PM

The Whistle Stop Revue is an Americana band formed in 2012 in the Southeastern region of Michigan. The band is known for its unique and eclectic style, which fuses elements of bluegrass, blues, rock, country, jazz, and other forms of music in their live performances. The band consists of Joe Haugh and Blake Short, formerly of Rivergrass, and also Rick Doviak, whose musical history is rooted in the Michigan and national roots scene. In the past, Doviak has shared the stage with such luminaries as Melvin Seals of Jerry Garcia Band fame, the legendary Col. Bruce Hampton of Aquarium Rescue Unit, and members of Moe. Since their inception, The Whistle Stop Revue have played over 150 shows throughout the Midwestern United States. A few notable appearances of 2013 include The 3rd Annual John Hartford Memorial Festival at Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Park in Bean Blossom Indiana, The 11th Annual Niles Bluegrass Festival in Niles, Michigan (they also played a show as part of the Niles Sunday Concert Series), the 6th Annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash at the Mousetrap in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the 4th of July weekend at Short’s Brewery in Bellaire, Michigan. The Band plans to continue heavy touring in 2014 bringing their energetic, improvisational musical shows to a city near you.
