Rachel & Alex is an indie folk duo based out of Lansing, MI, composed of Rachel Curtis and Alex Mendenall. Drawing from groups like Of Monsters and Men, The Civil Wars, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Rachel & Alex’s music features rich harmonies and instrumentations. They each play multiple instruments, filling up the stage with a full-band sound, but with a chemistry that is unique to a duo. Since their formation in December of 2013, the two have taken their music across the state of Michigan, adding their own dimension to the celebrated Michigan folk-scene. They have played alongside nationally touring bands as well as talented Michigan-based bands including Young Rising Sons, Bennett and Less is More. Rachel & Alex released their debut EP, Nights Like These in May of 2015.
